Coaching and Mentoring

It was a tricky time for my first year. Everything was new, and I got confused about my role in the classroom. Becky showed me great demonstrations for how to organize the whole class, especially having a keen understanding of each pupil needs and making sure the pupils have the support they need to learn effectively. I do appreciate this, and all this knowledge makes me more confident to guide my pupils in class. What's more, she is always willing to share amazing teaching websites and online courses with me. We talked about the direction of my teaching career and Becky helped me plan out what I would like to do in the classroom and which field I can focus on more to improve.

Rebecca was a mentor that offered guidance and advice during my NQT year. She helped shape my practice and develop my pedagogical skills, of which were commended in my final year evaluations. More recently, Rebecca provided support through the teaching and learning department, whereby her friendly and patient attitude, coupled with her communication and organisational skills, fostered a culture where myself and others could grow and progress as educators. I feel that Rebecca’s professionalism and commitment to teaching is a benefit to those that work with her, and I have been grateful for everything she has shared with me.
